What Is a Final Walkthrough?

The final walkthrough is the buyer's last visit to the property shortly before closing. It's your chance to confirm the home is in the condition you agreed to buy.

What You're Checking

Confirm the home is vacant as agreed, agreed-upon repairs were completed, included fixtures and appliances remain, and nothing was damaged during move-out.

Test the Basics

Run faucets, flush toilets, test outlets and switches, check the HVAC, and open windows and doors to make sure everything works.

If Something Is Wrong

If you find a problem, don't panic and don't skip closing without a plan. We can negotiate a credit, a holdback, or a repair before the deal records.

When It Happens

The walkthrough is typically scheduled within a few days of closing, once the seller has largely moved out.
